- Day 1 – Arrival in Santa Marta and Sunset Sailing Trip
Your adventure in Santa Marta starts with a private transfer from Simón Bolívar International Airport to your hotel, where you will be welcomed with the warmth of Caribbean hospitality.
Once you’ve checked in and relaxed, your afternoon features one of the city’s top activities: a sailing excursion around Santa Marta Bay. The tour departs around 4:00 p.m. from the International Marina, a safe and modern location in front of the historic downtown.
During the sailing experience, you’ll witness the city come alive as the sun sets, offering a backdrop of the majestic Sierra Nevada mountains and the calm Caribbean Sea ahead. The sailboat will cruise along the bay towards Taganga, giving you extraordinary photo opportunities and a chance to enjoy a refreshing drink onboard. - Day 2 – Excursion to Tayrona Park: Playa Cristal
After breakfast, between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., a shuttle will pick you up at your hotel to start your journey to Tayrona National Natural Park, one of Colombia’s most renowned attractions. En route, you’ll stop at the Seven Waves viewpoint to admire the beauty of the Caribbean Sea. The adventure continues to Neguanje, where you’ll board a boat bound for Playa Cristal, famous for its pristine waters and peaceful setting. Enjoy several hours at your leisure: swim, snorkel, and explore the vibrant marine life of the coral reef, or simply relax beneath palm trees by the ocean.
At midday, you can have lunch at local beachfront restaurants (lunch not included), savoring fresh fish and regional specialties. Your return is scheduled for the afternoon, with arrival at your hotel around 5:00 p.m., giving you time to unwind and reflect on the scenic memories of Tayrona.
- Day 3 – City Tour of Santa Marta
The morning is yours to enjoy—relax at the beach or take advantage of your hotel’s amenities. In the afternoon, at about 2:00 p.m., you’ll set off on a tour of Santa Marta’s most significant landmarks, exploring Colombia’s oldest city. Your first stop is Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino, the estate where Simón Bolívar spent his final days, offering insight into this historical site. Next, visit the Minor Basilica Cathedral, South America’s oldest cathedral, and the Tayrona Gold Museum, which houses remarkable artifacts from the indigenous cultures of the Sierra Nevada.
The tour continues through the historic center, with its colonial streets and lively plazas, before visiting the monument dedicated to Carlos “El Pibe” Valderrama, a Colombian football legend. To finish, head up to the Taganga viewpoint, a traditional fishing village that provides a sweeping view of the bay—an ideal way to conclude your afternoon.
