Tour Description

Day 1

Arrival in Salta

Upon your arrival at Salta’s airport or bus terminal, you’ll be transferred to your hotel located in the heart of the city.

The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at your own pace.

Day 2

Full-Day Cafayate Excursion

Cafayate, 12-hour tour

After breakfast at your hotel, a private guide will pick you up to begin the journey south from Salta along Route 68, passing through the scenic Lerma Valley and its historic villages. You’ll reach the stunning Quebrada de las Conchas, where centuries of wind and water have carved out fascinating rock formations such as El Anfiteatro, La Garganta del Diablo, El Sapo, and Los Castillos.

Upon arrival in Cafayate, you will tour two renowned wineries, especially known for their distinctive Torrontés wine, shaped by the unique climate and terrain of the region.

A delicious lunch will be served, after which you’ll return to Salta via the Quebrada de las Conchas and Lerma Valley. As the sunlight changes, you'll witness the landscape transform with new colors and shadows in the ravine.

Your guide will drop you back at your hotel in Salta.

Day 3 and 4

Humahuaca and Iruya Gorges – 2-Day Adventure

Following breakfast at your hotel, your private guide will collect you for a two-day journey to Iruya.

The trip starts in the charming village of Purmamarca, where you’ll see the famous Hill of Seven Colors, the historic church, and the local crafts market. Continuing on to Tilcara, you’ll explore the Pucará ruins and the Archaeological Museum.

Next, travel to Huacalera and cross the Tropic of Capricorn, where you can admire the vibrant colors of the Pollera la Colla hill.

Along the route, you'll stop at the Church of Uquía to view paintings of the Arquebusier Angels. In Humahuaca, visit the impressive cathedral and the Independence Monument (El Indio), with ample time to discover the area.

Passing through Iturbe and over Abra del Cóndor (3,900 m), you’ll arrive at Iruya, a picturesque town of Hispanic heritage nestled at the mouth of a small stream. Overnight accommodation will be in a 4-star hotel. The following day, you’ll journey back to Salta at a relaxed pace, stopping to visit San Salvador de Jujuy before returning in the afternoon.

Farewell to Salta

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and enjoy some free time before your transfer to the airport or bus terminal.
