Tour Description
Day 1: Arrival in Rio de Janeiro
Upon landing at Rio de Janeiro International Airport, you will be greeted and taken to your hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to unwind at the hotel or venture out into the city.
Day 2: Discovering Rio de Janeiro: Christ the Redeemer - Corcovado + Rio de Janeiro City Tour
A transfer will collect you from the hotel around 8 AM for an extensive 8-hour tour with a local guide, covering Rio de Janeiro's top attractions.
Our journey begins with a visit to one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, Christ the Redeemer, perched atop Corcovado Mountain in Rio's South Zone, at 710 meters above sea level. This iconic monument offers a breathtaking view of stunning beaches, the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, and the city center.
Access to the summit is via a van ride, included in the package, taking approximately 20 minutes through the Tijuca National Park, the largest urban rainforest globally. It's an ecological journey showcasing Rio de Janeiro's diverse flora and fauna.
Following the visit to Christ the Redeemer, we'll pause at the exterior of Maracana Stadium, a venue for famed football matches, including the 2014 World Cup final. While this stop includes only an outside view, you may choose to pay a fee for an interior tour to soak in the stadium's vibrant atmosphere (optional).
Next, we head to the Sambódromo, the heart of Rio's Carnival parades, where you'll explore the Samba Museum and enjoy views from the Plaza Apoteose.
Lunch will be at a Rodízio Steakhouse, followed by a visit to Sugarloaf Mountain, a quintessential symbol of the city. Rising 395 meters above sea level, the ascent is via a glass cable car, offering a 360º panorama of Guanabara Bay, Copacabana, Urca, Botafogo, and Flamengo.
In the afternoon, we'll explore the city center's key landmarks, including the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Selarón Staircase, an art piece by Chilean artist Jorge Selarón. You'll also admire the city's preserved architectural heritage.
The transfer will return you to your selected hotel at day's end.
Day 3: Leisure Day in Rio de Janeiro
Today is at your leisure to uncover Rio de Janeiro on your own. We suggest an optional 4-hour jeep tour through the Tijuca Forest, where you can enjoy the serene Chinese View and gaze upon the renowned Copacabana and Ipanema beaches and Guanabara Bay, along with the Botanical Garden, home to imperial palm trees and historical tales of the Brazilian Empire.
Day 4: Leisure Day in Rio de Janeiro
Another day to freely explore Rio de Janeiro. Consider an optional walking tour of the city center. Attractions include the Royal Portuguese Reading Room, the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro, the Cultural Center of the Bank of Brazil, the National Historical Museum, and the São Bento Monastery, among other cultural highlights.
Day 5: Departure to Manaus
We'll collect you from your hotel in Rio de Janeiro and transport you to the airport for your flight to Manaus.
Upon arrival in Manaus, you'll be taken to your chosen hotel, with the rest of the day free for you to explore the city.
Day 6: Manaus City Tour Adventure
Departing from the hotel, you'll explore the charming promenade of Ponta Negra, located along the Negro River in the city's most upscale neighborhood, known for hosting musical and theater performances. Next, we'll head to the city center for an internal tour of the Amazonas Theater, a landmark of Manaus opened in 1896, symbolizing the rubber boom—an essential period in Brazil's history, with its opulence reflected in its halls, corridors, and artworks. From there, we'll admire the stunning Palacio de Justicia and the Largo de São Sebastião, a vibrant area with bars, museums, historic homes, and abundant art.
Continuing in the city center, we'll take a panoramic tour to appreciate the historic buildings, exemplars of rubber-era architecture. Our tour then takes us to the Adolpho Lisboa Market, a key marketplace for regional products, showcasing Art Nouveau architecture—a rarity in Brazil—and offering insights into local customs, culture, and traditions, with opportunities to purchase Amazonian souvenirs.
Day 7: Leisure Day in Manaus
Enjoy a free day to explore Manaus. Suggested activity (optional): Embark on a tour to witness the Meeting of the Waters, a 15 km journey culminating at the natural confluence of the Negro and Solimões Rivers, where you can also marvel at the giant Victoria amazonica lilies, native to the Amazon.
