Tour Description
The day starts with hotel pick-up for a guided tour of Salvador's most significant historical sites, exploring its earliest streets, squares, and churches.
Our journey begins at the Barra Lighthouse, leading us to the Upper City via the Corridor of Victory, Campo Grande, and Piedade. This modern section of Salvador is bustling with tall buildings, shopping centers, and busy avenues, marking it as the city's economic hub.
We will then stroll through the Municipal Square, home to the Rio Branco Palace and City Hall, situated opposite the Lacerda elevator. From here, you can take in breathtaking views of the Bay of All Saints.
At the elevator's vantage point, we will admire the Upper City, the Lower City, and the unique perspectives offered by the diverse architectural styles of Pelô's streets and houses. We will then proceed to Terreiro de Jesus, where the Basilica Cathedral of the Savior is located, and explore the Church of St. Francis, known for its opulent design and hailed as the finest example of Portuguese Baroque worldwide.
The tour concludes at Largo do Pelourinho, a vibrant area rich in color, culture, and history, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site and celebrated by the famed author Jorge Amado.
