Tour Description

Arrival in Cusco
DAY 1. Upon arriving in Cusco, you'll be transferred from the airport or bus station to your hotel in the city center. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure and spend the night at your hotel.
City Tour Cusco and 4 Nearby Ruins
DAY 2. We will collect you from your hotel to embark on a tour beginning with the Temple of the Sun, known as Koricancha. This iconic site exemplifies the blend of Incan and Spanish cultures, with its foundation forming the base for the Church of Santo Domingo and its renowned convent.
Next, we visit the Cathedral in the Main Square, home to exquisite religious paintings from the Cusco School. The Cusco City Tour proceeds to Sacsayhuaman, a remarkable archaeological site featuring enormous stones intricately fitted together, believed to have been constructed by over 20,000 men over 70 years.
We then explore Qenqo, a religious temple where the Incas honored deities such as the Sun, Moon, and Earth. Experience its underground galleries and admire the semicircular amphitheater. Our journey continues at the military site of Puca Pucara, meaning “Red Fortress” due to its reddish hue.
Finally, we visit Tambomachay, a site dedicated to water worship, with aqueducts and waterfalls sourced from nearby springs. The day concludes with a drop-off at El Regocijo Square, just a block from Plaza de Armas.
Chinchero, Maras Salt Mines and Moray Ruins
DAY 3. We start the day early, picking you up from your hotel for an intriguing tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our first destination is Chinchero, located 17 miles from Cusco, where you'll visit a local workshop to observe ancient textile-making techniques.
Afterward, we head to the Maras salt mines, situated on an open hill in the Urubamba Valley. This site showcases an impressive Incan process where a subterranean stream evaporates salty water, channeling it into a network of terraced ponds, leaving salt deposits behind.
Following Maras, we explore the Moray ruins, with three large circular depressions believed to have served as an Incan agricultural experiment station. These terraces, resembling an ancient Greek amphitheater, offer a glimpse into the Inca Empire's lifestyle and advanced construction methods. The tour concludes back at El Regocijo Square, near Plaza de Armas.

Pisac Market, Ollantaytambo Ruins and Expedition Train to Machu Picchu

DAY 4. Breakfast at the hotel. We depart from Cusco for a 30 km journey to Pisac, known for its vibrant market and stone temples offering breathtaking views of the valley and Inca terraces.

We continue to Urubamba for a delightful buffet lunch, then proceed to Ollantaytambo. This site, once a military, religious, and agricultural hub, boasts stunning views and over a hundred Inca terraces with an advanced irrigation system.

You'll then transfer to the train station in Ollantaytambo for the Expedition Train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, a short briefing with your guide will prepare you for the Machu Picchu excursion. Overnight stay at the hotel.
