Tour Description

Day 1 – Arrival in Armenia and Coffee Premium Tour at Finca La Morelia
Your journey through the Colombian Coffee Axis begins as you land at Armenia’s airport, the capital of Quindío and the gateway to some of Colombia’s most stunning scenery. A private transfer will greet you and take you directly to your hotel, where you can settle in before diving into your first unforgettable experience: the Coffee Premium Tour at Finca La Morelia, one of the region’s true coffee gems.
Situated just outside the city and surrounded by lush mountains and expansive coffee fields, Finca La Morelia stands out for producing some of Colombia’s most celebrated coffee, having won four Monde Selection gold medals for its superior quality. Your visit starts with a warm welcome and a gourmet coffee-based refreshment, followed by a guided tour that delves into the history, cultural significance, and entire production process of Colombian coffee.
You’ll wander through the coffee plantations, visit the seedbeds to learn about different varieties and germination, and uncover the secrets of harvesting, processing, and threshing. Discover the art of green selection, masterful roasting, and participate in a full cupping session to identify unique flavors, aromas, and profiles. The experience also includes an introduction to barista skills, allowing you to craft your own cup of coffee like an expert. The tour concludes with a coffee-themed souvenir, ensuring you take a piece of this magical land home. This first day will immerse you in the heart of the Coffee Cultural Landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 2 – Filandia, Salento and Cocora Valley
After enjoying a traditional breakfast at your hotel, you’ll set out to explore three of the Coffee Axis’s most iconic destinations. Your first stop is the breathtaking Cocora Valley, a natural wonder filled with lush greenery and gentle mist, home to the world’s tallest wax palms—soaring up to 60 meters and acting as guardians of the landscape. Guided by an expert, you’ll hike through meadows and cloud forests, learning about the valley’s biodiversity and the ecological significance of the wax palm, Colombia’s national tree and a protected species. Numerous scenic viewpoints offer perfect opportunities to capture stunning photographs and appreciate the valley’s captivating charm.
The adventure continues in Salento, one of Quindío’s most picturesque towns. Here, you’ll savor a traditional lunch with local trout, crispy patacón (fried plantain), and other regional specialties. Afterwards, stroll along the vibrant Calle Real, famous for its colorful houses, artisan shops, and inviting cafes, and climb to the Alto de la Cruz viewpoint for sweeping views of the town and surrounding valley.
Your final stop is Filandia, a charming town that has preserved its Antioquian colonial architecture. Walk through its central square, wander the Street of Frozen Time, and discover fascinating local stories, including the origins of the town’s names and the traditions that shape Quindío culture. Filandia is the perfect place to sample regional desserts, enjoy excellent coffee, or shop for unique handicrafts before returning to Armenia.

Day 3 – Farewell to Quindío
On your final morning in the Coffee Axis, enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel and soak in the warmth and tranquility that define this Colombian region. If your departure time allows, take a last walk through Armenia, visit a local coffee shop for a final cup of freshly roasted coffee, or pick up souvenirs such as premium coffee beans, artisan crafts, and traditional sweets.
At your scheduled time, a private transfer will take you to the Armenia airport for your return flight. This marks the end of three immersive days, where you’ve experienced coffee culture up close, admired postcard-perfect landscapes, and explored towns rich in color, history, and tradition.
