Frequently Asked Questions

The Cusco Express tour package typically includes airport-hotel transfers, accommodation with breakfast, guided tours in Spanish, entrance fees, and support from the tour operator. The itinerary usually covers the Cusco City Tour (Historic Center, temples, and nearby archaeological sites), the Sacred Valley of the Incas, and a visit to Machu Picchu with train to Aguas Calientes and bus up to the site. Depending on the package category selected, different train schedules, hotels, and additional services are available. Check your confirmation to see what's included: guide, tickets, transportation, meals, and whether a valid passport is required. Optional activities, upgrades, and extra nights in Cusco can be added.

The Cusco Express tour typically lasts between 3 and 5 days, ideal for travelers seeking a compact tour with the essentials. A typical itinerary includes: arrival day with transfer and city tour in Cusco; excursion to the Sacred Valley with scenic stops and visits to Andean markets; and a full day at Machu Picchu with train to Aguas Calientes, an official guide, and free time for photos. Some versions add an extra night for acclimatization or optional activities. Schedules may vary depending on train availability, season, and service category. Please check your voucher to confirm the final details of departures, inclusions, and times.

The best time to visit Peru is during the dry season (approximately May to September), with sunny days and a lower chance of rain, ideal for tours to Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. During peak season (June–August), it's advisable to book in advance due to high demand for trains and entrance fees. The rainy season (November–March) has fewer visitors and lush green landscapes, but requires a raincoat and flexibility in case of delays. Cusco has variable weather: cool mornings and mild afternoons. Pack layers of clothing, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and comfortable shoes. To optimize your experience, check the forecast and your confirmed schedules.

Cusco is located at approximately 3,400 meters above sea level, so the altitude can cause altitude sickness in some travelers. The Cusco Express tour is moderately strenuous, with hikes to archaeological sites and climbs to Machu Picchu. Recommendations: acclimatize for 24–48 hours, stay hydrated, eat light meals, avoid alcohol, get plenty of rest, and consider coca tea or medication as prescribed by your doctor. Wear shoes with good traction, use trekking poles with rubber tips (if you plan to use them), bring a light jacket, a windbreaker or raincoat, and sunscreen. If you have a heart or respiratory condition, consult your doctor before your trip and consider travel insurance.

Generally, the tour operator requires a deposit to confirm your booking and the balance due before departure. You will receive an electronic confirmation with your itinerary, train schedules, guide details, and service vouchers. Change and cancellation policies vary depending on the fare: some services (such as Machu Picchu entrance fees and train tickets) may be non-refundable or subject to penalties. Date changes are subject to availability and potential fare differences. Payments are accepted by credit card or bank transfer. We recommend purchasing cancellation insurance and reviewing the terms and conditions in your confirmation to avoid additional charges and plan with peace of mind.
