The excursion kicks off between 8:30 and 9:00 AM with the pick-up from your accommodation situated in the downtown area of Santa Marta. If your lodging is in the Rodadero or Taganga areas, please inform us beforehand as there might be an extra fee, or we can arrange a meeting point for the pick-up.
We will head to Minca accompanied by a local guide, who will share insights into the history and tourism development of the area during the journey. The route to Minca is renowned for its stunning landscapes and sweeping views of the Caribbean coast, ensuring you're captivated from the start of your adventure.
After a 45-minute drive, we will reach Minca. Our first destination is a coffee farm, where you will have the chance to discover the coffee production process. From planting to harvesting, you'll learn about each stage and uncover the secrets behind crafting mountain coffee. Additionally, you will get to sample various coffees, savoring their distinct aromas and flavors.
Continuing our journey, we'll embark on a 30-minute hike through the mountain interior in search of the clear waters of the Sierra Nevada. Throughout the walk, the guide will introduce you to the rich bird diversity native to the region. The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is celebrated as a birdwatcher's haven, and you'll likely spot vibrant species such as the Emerald Toucanet, Orange-fronted Parakeet, or Red-billed Woodpecker.
