Your day kicks off with a pickup from your accommodation in downtown Cartagena at 7:00 am. From there, we will embark on a land journey to Barú Island.
Upon reaching the island around 8:30 am, you will be provided with all the necessary equipment for the kayak excursion, along with a brief introduction to paddling techniques and safety guidelines by our expert guides. The adventure on the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean Sea commences at 9:00 am. As you paddle, you’ll witness the striking contrast between the tropical dry forest along the island’s edge and the expansive white sand beaches. From your kayak, you will take in breathtaking views of the Rosario Islands, a paradise that enhances every stroke of your paddle.
By 11:00 am, you’ll reach the southern tip of Barú, a secluded area where lush mangroves form a vibrant ecosystem. Here, you can navigate the natural tunnels while learning about the significance of this habitat and the historical connection between the Barulero people and the mangroves.
After this morning's exploration, enjoy a traditional lunch at 12:30 pm, immersing yourself in the local flavors that further connect you with Barú’s essence. Following lunch, you have free time to unwind, whether by swimming in the warm waters or discovering more of the island.
At 3:00 pm, you will paddle back to Cholón, concluding the trip at 4:00 pm. Finally, transportation will return you to Cartagena, wrapping up a perfect day of nature and adventure, with an anticipated arrival at 6:00 pm.
