The Quindío Botanical Garden occupies 15 hectares in Armenia and houses something few natural spaces in the country can claim: the National Palm Collection of Colombia , with 210 of the 255 species registered in the country, all gathered in one place. It is a benchmark of plant biodiversity in the Coffee Region, combining research, conservation, and direct experience with nature.
The tour also features 1,500 butterflies flying freely within the butterfly garden and four museums integrated into the trail. A recommended experience for all ages, with daily departures from Filandia, Salento, Pereira, and Armenia.
Tour Description
The tour begins with hotel pick-up at the agreed-upon meeting point, followed by transfer to the Quindío Botanical Garden in Calarcá. From the entrance, the main path leads to a route divided into zones , each with its own pace and type of observation. The guide has extensive knowledge of the garden and tailors the tour to the group and the time of day.
The first major highlight is the National Palm Collection : 210 species gathered in one place, the most complete inventory of Colombian flora of its kind in the country. This scientific and visual resource makes this botanical garden a national benchmark in Colombia.
The butterfly garden is the highlight of the tour: 1,500 butterflies in free flight in a space designed for close observation. It boasts one of the largest butterfly collections in Colombia and is an experience suitable for all types of travelers.
