We will depart from the hotel in Pucón early in the morning at the agreed time, ready to experience a day full of adventure. This journey will take us deep into the natural wonder of one of the Most Active Volcanoes in the world, nestled right in the heart of Araucanía.
Our adventure begins at the base of the impressive Rukapillán Volcano, also known as Villarrica Volcano, the most active in Chile and South America, standing at an altitude of 2,847 meters.
We will commence our ascent of the volcano at a gentle and safe pace, with the entire climb taking about 5 hours and the descent approximately 2.5 hours. This excursion is family-friendly, requiring participants to be over 12 years old and in good physical shape.
As we advance along the volcano’s trails, we will find ourselves in a world of volcanic rocks, snow, and ice.
As we near the summit, the views become increasingly breathtaking, offering glimpses of various lakes such as Villarrica, Calafquén, Huelipilum, Pellaifa, and Caburgua.
Upon reaching the peak, we will be rewarded with a 360-degree panoramic view encompassing mountains, lakes, and forests, and we will also have a clear sight of the surrounding volcanoes, including Lanín, Lonquimay, Quetrupillán, Choshuenco, and Llaima.
The crater of the volcano, with its active fumarole, serves as a reminder of the power of nature and the marvel of this accomplishment. Depending on its current activity level, we may approach as close as 600 meters to 1 kilometer.
After taking some time to soak in the views and create unforgettable memories at the top of the Villarrica Volcano, we will begin our descent. This experience is sure to leave a lasting impression and a profound sense of achievement.
