Tour Description

Our exploration of Florianópolis, affectionately known as Floripa, will take you from the northern to the southern reaches of the city, showcasing a variety of tourist attractions.

We begin in the city center, where you can admire the Ponte Hercílio Luz viewpoint. This impressive suspension bridge, inaugurated in 1926, is one of the largest of its kind globally and was the first to link the city with the State of Santa Catarina. You'll also discover the Largo da Alfândega, beautifully restored by the government and now regarded as one of the city's iconic landmarks. The Metropolitan Cathedral offers a stunning collection of sacred art, featuring works by Demetz Groeden, including his renowned sculpture "Escape to Egypt." At Praça 15 de Novembro, you'll find significant historic buildings, such as the monument commemorating the heroes of the Paraguayan War, and the majestic Figueira Centenário trees. The Palácio Cruz e Sousa, currently the Historical Museum of Santa Catarina, once served as the Palace of the State Government and hosted visits from emperors Dom Pedro I and Dom Pedro II.

Journeying eastward, we'll explore Lagoa da Conceição, a top tourist draw with Floripa's largest lagoon, surrounded by mountains, dunes, and beaches. We'll also visit Joaquina Beach, famed for its strong waves, making it a favorite among surfers, and Praia Mole, known for its pristine green waters. Lunch is at Barra da Lagoa, a hub for fishermen and rich in local culture. Post-lunch, we'll head to the Projeto Tamar, offering a guided tour to encounter numerous sea turtle species. Here, you can feed the turtles and witness their return to the sea, making it an excellent activity for children, thanks to its interactive children's area. (Please note, the Tamar Project ticket is not included.)

Our tour concludes in the north of Florianópolis. We'll visit Praia dos Ingleses, featuring excellent infrastructure and serving as a prime destination for tourists. The Balneário de Jurerê is perfect for those seeking relaxation in tranquil waters. We will also explore the fort of São José da Ponta Grossa, constructed in 1740 and recognized by the National Historical and Artistic Heritage. This site offers photographic exhibitions, period buildings, archaeological excavations, a chapel, and a historical water source. Lastly, we'll visit Canasvieiras, one of the most popular beaches, noted for its calm waters.
