Tour Description
At the designated time, we will depart from our chosen hotels in San Luis to embark on our tour. Our first stop will be El Volcán, a serene summer village named after the nearby river and its swift current. Along the Volcán River, we will witness impressive waterfalls such as Salto Colorado and La Hoya, a stunning natural rock formation where visitors can enjoy swimming in its tranquil waters.
Our journey continues to El Trapiche, another charming summer village. In 1972, this area was home to a small community that thrived on gold extracted from local materials. Here, the first "trapiche" was established, a hydraulic mill designed for grinding minerals.
We will also explore the La Florida Dam and Reservoir, which collects waters from the Rio Grande and the Trapiche River, forming the Rio Quinto. This dam serves as the primary source of freshwater for San Luis and Villa Mercedes. The area offers several campsites and a reserve that safeguards the native wildlife. The reservoir is also a venue for various water sports, including diving.
Finally, we will visit the tourist region of Estancia Grande and the locality of El Durazno, before returning to our selected hotels in San Luis.
