Lagoon And Mountains Of The Padres

We will set off at the predetermined time from our centrally located hotels in Mar del Plata, embarking on a journey along Provincial Route 226. This scenic route is renowned for its picturesque rural landscapes and leads us to the Laguna de los Padres Integral Nature Reserve, situated just 14 kilometers from Mar del Plata.

Sierra de Los Padres is steeped in history and boasts the richest biological diversity in the area. This site was once home to the Puelches, indigenous people of the region, making the Laguna de Los Padres Reserve a place of significant historical and ecological importance due to its distinct flora and fauna.

Our exploration includes a visit to the Nuestra Señora del Pilar Jesuit Reduction. As we continue, we will arrive at the Gruta de los Pañuelos, an impressive cavity between the rocks that forms a grotto. Within this grotto, a small altar houses the Virgin of Luján, making it a revered site where many come to pray and seek blessings.
