Porteño Fileteado Tour

🎨 We will begin our Buenos Aires fileteado tour in front of the historic Notable Bar El Federal in San Telmo. There, our guide will introduce us to the first concepts of porteño fileteado, with a vibrant fileteado mural as the backdrop.

Then, we will explore the streets of San Telmo, a true open-air museum where this traditional art comes to life on facades, signs, and in the neighborhood’s many distinctive corners. During the walk, we will learn about the history of fileteado, its main characteristics, and the legacy of the great masters who helped establish it as an emblem of Buenos Aires culture.

Born in Buenos Aires at the beginning of the 20th century, fileteado became one of the most recognizable expressions of Argentine identity. Its cultural significance extended beyond Argentina, and today it is recognized as part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

🏛️ We will visit the Church of San Pedro González Telmo, where we can admire several works by the master Martiniano Arce. We will then continue to the iconic San Telmo Market, one of the most traditional and frequently visited places in Buenos Aires.

✨ To conclude the tour, we will take part in an exclusive class with a Master Fileteador, who will share the techniques and secrets of this traditional Argentine art. With his guidance, we will create our own piece to take home as a souvenir of an authentic Buenos Aires experience.
