Descripción del Tour:

Your guide will collect you from your hotel in Bariloche, and together you'll journey towards the Limay River. Recognized as the most significant river in the National Park, its vast waters emerge from the eastern end of the expansive Nahuel Huapi, approximately 17 km (11 miles) from Bariloche. The river meanders through arid, rocky mesas adorned with pine forests, presenting breathtaking landscapes and delightful weather. Home to predominantly rainbow and brown trout, along with some Patagonian perch, it presents numerous opportunities for anglers. From November to March, there is an abundance of dry fly fishing opportunities, and in April, the final month of the season, large trout make their way from the lake to the river. The river offers five distinct sections, each stretching about 10 miles. The crystal-clear waters, stunning scenery, and excellent fishing make this floating trip truly memorable.
Upon reaching the Boarding spot along the Limay River, your guide will introduce you to the fishing techniques available for the excursion:
  • Fly-fishing: Utilizing a specialized weighted line, “dressed” hooks that mimic insects, minnows, and shrimp are cast using various techniques. While this method requires some practice and patience to perfect a good cast, fly-fishing has been globally popular for a long time and continues to gain popularity. Numerous seasoned anglers visit Patagonia annually from around the globe to practice their craft in these untouched, secluded fishing spots, as do beginners eager to refine their skills.
  • Spinning: This method involves casting artificial lures, such as spoons or spinners, with the appropriate rod and reel, suitable for fishing from the shore or boats. We recommend using ultra-light equipment and lures, ideally with single barbless hooks.
Following this, you will commence your floating journey, navigating the Limay River and fishing at the premier spots the river offers.
With your guide by your side, you will also discover the history of the Bariloche region, the prime fishing options, and the local wildlife.
After spending your morning or afternoon drifting and fishing, you'll return to the shore, where our assistants will be ready to transport you back to your hotel.
