Descripción del Tour
We will collect you from your hotel in Cusco to embark on an unforgettable journey to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Nestled 9.3 miles northeast of the city, this valley was cherished by the Inca Empire for its strategic location and favorable climate, particularly the fertile lands ideal for agriculture.
Situated at an altitude of 2,800 meters above sea level, the Sacred Valley boasts one of the region's most pleasant climates. It's home to a remarkable array of flora and fauna, including wildflowers and wildlife such as the vizcacha, puma, and skunk, among others.
Our first stop will be the quaint town of Pisac, reached after a scenic 20.5-mile drive. This enchanting location is renowned for its vibrant craft market and Inca sites, featuring stone buildings with breathtaking views of the valley and impressive Inca terraces.
After exploring the Pisac market, our journey continues to the town of Urubamba, where we'll savor traditional Peruvian cuisine at a local riverside restaurant. This delightful buffet lunch showcases regional specialties, including alpaca and trout.
Next, we will arrive at the town of Ollantaytambo, situated at 2,792 meters above sea level. The Inca ruins of Ollantaytambo once served as a military, religious, and agricultural hub. It offers magnificent views and features over a hundred Inca terraces with an advanced irrigation system from that era.
Climb the steps to reach the top of the Fortress and visit key sites, including the ceremonial center of Temple Hill. Here, we'll explore various locations, including the wall of the six monoliths, also known as the Temple of the Sun.
Our final tour stop is the town of Chinchero, with its vibrant and colorful Inca market, filled with traditional crafts such as ceramics and Andean textiles.
According to the Sacred Valley tribe, the Milky Way and its constellations were mirrored in the Urubamba River. The ninth Inca emperor, Pachacutec, initiated the expansion of the Inca Empire, known as Tahuantinsuyo. His notable achievements include the Fortress of Ollantaytambo, Sacsayhuamán, Coricancha, and the commencement of Machu Picchu's construction during his reign.
After this enriching experience, we will drop you off at Plaza El Regocijo, a block away from Plaza de Armas.
