Descripción del Tour
Embark on this extraordinary culinary adventure starting at the meeting spot located at the charming Plazoleta of San Pedro, home to the renowned Market of San Pedro.
Established in 1925, during your tour of the market, you'll encounter a multitude of vendors offering a diverse array of products including cheeses, fruits, vegetables, handmade crafts, menus, and more.
The San Pedro Market serves as the primary supply hub for the city, attracting both tourists and locals every day. This site was integral to the Inca Trail, linking to the Plaza de Armas during the era of the Inca Empire.
The gastronomic journey continues with a brief stroll to reach the cooking studio conveniently situated near the market in Cusco's historic center. Here, the kitchen is prepped and ready for the Peruvian cooking classes to commence.
Your class begins with crafting a Peruvian cocktail, the famous Pisco Sour. This traditional drink combines Pisco, a grape-based spirit, with passion fruit juice.
A professional chef will guide you through the preparation of a 4-course menu using fundamental cooking techniques. We’ll kick off with the first course, a delectable Mashua Cream served with purple corn chips. Mashua is a tuber native to the high Andes, similar to potatoes, and is rich in nutritional benefits.
For the second course, you'll create three distinct types of ceviche. The first is a classic style featuring red onion and coriander. The second is an ancestral style with tumbo juice, a fruit indigenous to the high jungle Andes, akin to passion fruit and high in vitamin C. The third ceviche will include kushuro (high Andean algae), tarwi (Andean soy), and camu camu, offering a unique blend of flavors.
In the third course, you'll prepare a delightful rocoto pepper stuffed with mushrooms and vegetables, paired with a fresh organic garden salad and a creamy potato pie. Rocoto is a spicy chili pepper, and for the potato pie, you’ll use three different varieties of potatoes.
Throughout each course, you'll have the opportunity to savor your creations, enjoying the authentic Peruvian cuisine crafted by your own hands, and engage with fellow participants. You’ll also taste non-alcoholic beverages like Chicha Morada, a sweet purple corn drink.
Finally, in the fourth course, you’ll indulge in desserts featuring aromatic and fresh exotic fruits such as lucuma, goldenberries, and cherimoya.
