Frequently Asked Questions

The Great Galapagos Expedition (8 days) typically includes transfers at the destination, accommodation on board a yacht or in selected hotels, full board or meals as per the program, daily excursions, boat landings, basic snorkeling equipment (mask and fins), and a certified naturalist guide from the Galapagos National Park. Typically not included are: flights to/from the mainland, Galapagos National Park entrance fee and Transit Control Card (TCT), wetsuit rental, alcoholic/premium beverages, gratuities, personal expenses, and travel insurance. The usual departure point is Baltra Airport (GPS) or San Cristóbal Airport (SCY). All items are subject to change and confirmation.

The Galápagos Islands are a year-round nature destination. From December to May (the warm season), the sea is usually calmer and the water warmer, ideal for snorkeling; from June to November (the cool season), the currents are richer in nutrients, with abundant marine activity. On the 8-day tour, it's common to see giant tortoises, marine iguanas, sea lions, blue-footed boobies, frigatebirds, pelicans, rays, and reef sharks; penguins can also be seen on certain islands. Sightings are never guaranteed, but the itinerary and the naturalist guide optimize the opportunities for photography and responsible wildlife observation.

The excursion combines hiking on volcanic terrain, wet/dry landings, and snorkeling sessions. Basic fitness and comfort for 1–3 hours of walking in the heat and sun are recommended. Essential luggage includes: lightweight, quick-drying clothing, a windbreaker, a hat or cap, polarized sunglasses, a swimsuit, hiking boots and water sandals, biodegradable SPF 50 sunscreen, insect repellent, a reusable water bottle, a light jacket, a camera (ideally waterproof), and motion sickness pills. Airlines typically limit checked baggage to 20–23 kg and carry-on to 8–10 kg; use a soft-sided suitcase. Travel medical and cancellation insurance is highly recommended.

Accommodation is typically on a superior tourist/first-class yacht or in select hotels, with cabins or rooms featuring private bathrooms, air conditioning, and hot water. Groups are small (approximately 12–16 travelers) for a personalized experience, with a naturalist guide certified by the Park. Safety includes support boats (pangas), life jackets, daily briefings, and navigation protocols. Sustainability and Galapagos National Park regulations are observed: do not touch or feed wildlife, maintain a distance of 2 meters, do not remove flora, fauna, or rocks, do not use drones without permission, take your trash back with you, and reduce single-use plastics. The itinerary may vary due to weather or regulations.

Request a quote with your dates, preferred category, and number of travelers. The price of the tour package varies by season (high season: June–August and December–January), yacht/hotel type, and cabin. To confirm, a deposit (20–30%) is typically required, with the balance due 60–90 days prior to departure. Changes and cancellations are subject to tiered fees depending on the advance notice; those made less than 30 days in advance are usually more restrictive. We recommend travel insurance with cancellation and medical expense coverage. Payments are accepted by credit card or bank transfer. Please verify current passport, TCT, and park fee requirements. During high season, book at least 6–9 months in advance.
