We will meet in the center of Salento to begin our exciting hiking day. We will board the authentic Willys Jeeps that will take us towards the amazing Cocora Valley, adding an exciting touch to our journey from the beginning of the day.
Upon arriving at the base of the Cocora Valley, our guide will give us a talk where we will learn more about the origin and importance of the majestic palms. We will have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the history and cultural significance of this unique species. We will learn about the palm`s life cycle, its impact on local biodiversity, and its status as an emblematic symbol of Colombia.
This information will not only enrich our knowledge about the Wax Palm, but will also inspire us to further appreciate the beauty that awaits us in the Cocora Valley.
We will begin our hike through the Cocora Valley, exploring the fascinating trails that wind between the tall wax palms.
The trail will take us through varied terrain, from gentle hills to more challenging sections, adapting to different skill levels. As we advance, the lush vegetation of the Cocora Valley unfolds, revealing the diversity of the local flora. There, nature becomes the best guide, introducing us to wax trees, giant ferns, and a variety of plants that give life to this unique ecosystem.
Birdwatching lovers will find these trails a paradise, as various species dance in the sky and among the branches. Every step in this natural labyrinth is an opportunity to absorb the essence of the Cocora Valley. We will have time to connect with nature or simply capture great selfies with the wax palms.
After three hours of hiking and free time through the valley, we will descend from Cocora to relax and recharge our batteries with a delicious typical lunch, while sharing the best anecdotes of our trip.
We return to Salento in the Willys Jeeps, taking the opportunity to enjoy the last views of the Cocora Valley.
