This trek lasts approximately 3 hours and offers two daily departures at 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The journey begins with a 20-minute zodiac boat ride from the base camp to the glacier island "Nunatak," from where we will start our hike on the glacial moraine until we reach the ice.

Participants must be in good physical condition and should wear suitable attire for this excursion, including sunglasses, a hat, gloves, waterproof clothing, and sturdy shoes with good ankle support.

The magnificent Grey Glacier spans approximately 6 kilometers in width, covers a total area of 270 km², and is divided into three sections. It is one of the over 40 glaciers comprising the Southern Ice Field and serves as a vital source of freshwater discharge.

This icy escapade lasts around 3 hours. We'll set off by zodiac boat to the island nestled amidst the glacier. Upon arrival, we'll trek for approximately 1 hour to access the ice. This uphill path on rocky terrain presents a moderate challenge.

Proper attire is crucial, not only for comfort, but also for safety. Sunglasses and gloves are indispensable due to our constant interaction with the ice. How to get there:


Departing from Puerto Natales. Arrive at the Grey Lake Sailing Departure on the Grey III Catamaran. For a 10:00 a.m. departure, check-in is at 9:00 a.m., reaching base camp by 11:00 a.m. for the first excursion. For a 1:00 p.m. departure, check-in is at 12:00 p.m., arriving at base camp around 2:00 p.m. for the second sailing. The third sailing returns from the refuge at 5:30 p.m., accommodating passengers needing to return to their hotel or town.
