Following a safety briefing, we will gear up with all necessary equipment to begin our paddle, navigating close to the massive floating icebergs before making our way to the eastern tongue of Grey Glacier. This route allows us to marvel at the breathtaking landscapes of the region, highlighted by towering ice walls.
Grey Lake stretches almost 17 kilometers in length and 4 kilometers in width, featuring several capes, peninsulas, and inlets, primarily fed by the glacier. Our journey will take us along the eastern side of the ice wall, where we will witness numerous attractions during this unforgettable adventure. We will be enveloped in a unique landscape, surrounded by the Paine Grande mountain, the Olguín mountain range, the glacier itself, and many other spectacular views.

Prepare for an extraordinary kayaking adventure that will immerse you in the heart of Chilean Patagonia!
The Grey Kayak experience on Grey Lake offers a unique chance to explore, thrill, and connect with nature like only Patagonia can provide.
This exciting kayaking journey lasts around 3 hours and sets off daily at 8:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 4:30 PM, subject to weather and wind conditions.
Upon reaching the base camp, our expert guide will equip us with all necessary gear: wetsuit, waterproof jacket and boots, poogies (kayak gloves), spray skirt, and life jacket. We’ll then receive a safety briefing on land to familiarize ourselves with the kayak, paddle, route, and weather conditions. Once we're all set, it's time to be amazed and enjoy!We'll carry our kayak approximately 20 meters to the boarding area. Grey Lake stretches nearly 17 kilometers in length and 4 kilometers in width, featuring numerous capes, peninsulas, and inlets, primarily fed by the glacier. On this adventure, we’ll navigate along the eastern side of the ice wall, offering various viewpoints for an unforgettable experience. From the water, we will be surrounded by an unmatched landscape, including Cerro Paine Grande, the Olguín Range, the glacier itself, and numerous other panoramic views.
Each paddle stroke is not only an invigorating physical challenge, but also a chance to deeply connect with nature.During the initial phase of the expedition, we will paddle near massive floating icebergs, providing a surreal and magical backdrop, before heading towards the glacier's eastern tongue. Grey Glacier will allow you to relish and admire this spectacular scenery, complete with impressive walls of giant ice.Every moment turns epic as we paddle through the waters. From this unique vantage point, you'll have the chance to capture breathtaking photographs of the surrounding natural beauty.
If weather conditions allow during the return journey, we'll pass by the Glacier Island "Nunatak" en route to the base camp.
We recommend wearing a long-sleeved base layer on top (since the wetsuit is sleeveless) and a base layer on the bottom due to the predominately cold local climate.
Upon returning to land, you'll carry memories that flow like the waters of Grey Lake. This kayaking adventure will be an experience you'll cherish forever.

How to Get There:
Option 1: From Puerto Natales, head to the departure point for the Grey Lake navigation on the Grey III catamaran. If the boat departs at 10:00 am, check-in is at 9:00 am, and you will arrive at base camp at 11:00 am for the first excursion. If the boat departs at 1:00 pm, check-in is at 12:00 pm, and you will arrive at base camp around 2:00 pm for the second boat trip. The third boat trip returns from the refuge at 5:30 pm for those needing to return to their hotel or the city.
2nd Option: Arrive by car or regular bus to Pudeto and take the Hielos Patagónicos catamaran across Lake Pehoé. This boat crosses to Paine Grande at 9:00/11:00/16:00/18:00 (subject to change). From Paine Grande, hike an 11 km trail, approximately 3.5 hours, to reach the base camp in Grey.
