Tour Description
The tour commences with a departure from selected hotels, where you'll start exploring some of Salvador's most significant landmarks.
Your journey kicks off at the Farol da Barra, the geographic landmark dividing All Saints Bay from the Atlantic Ocean, where we'll pause for our first photo opportunity. Following this, we'll proceed to the Dique do Tororó, known for its famous sculptures of the Candomblé orixás, and pass by the Arena Fonte Nova, a modern stadium erected on the site of the former Fonte Nova.
The itinerary takes us through the Nazaré Valley, navigating the Américo Simas tunnel until we reach the Lower City. En route, we'll glimpse the port area and the traditional Calçada neighborhood, featuring the impressive train station building from where suburban trains depart.
We then travel along Caminho de Areia avenue to visit the renowned Ribeira ice cream parlor (optional, not included in the total tour price), celebrated for its tempting tropical fruit flavors. Our adventure continues to Bonfim Hill, where we'll pause to admire the city's most renowned church, famed globally for the traditional Lavagem do Bonfim, a celebration rich in faith and joy.
Subsequently, we proceed to Fort Monte Serrat, a picturesque spot that blends preserved colonial architecture with breathtaking views of All Saints Bay. Soon after, we'll explore the Sanctuary of Santa Dulce de los Pobres, honoring the beloved Bahian nun canonized by the Vatican.
Our tour concludes at the iconic Mercado Modelo, where the vibrant hues of local crafts, the ocean backdrop, and the sound of the berimbau encapsulate the true spirit of Salvadoran culture.
