Tour Description
During this excursion, we will explore Anchumbil, a fascinating small red canyon reminiscent of Talampaya, where erosion has sculpted intriguing passages and hollows ideal for exploration. Here, visitors can discover petroglyphs, cave paintings, and remnants of Diaguita habitation.
Following breakfast, we will set out from the hotel towards either Banda Florida or Anchumbil (subject to availability), embarking on a one-and-a-half-hour trek through the striking red canyons. As we navigate this labyrinth, we will have the opportunity to admire the cave paintings that have preserved their original hues, safeguarded by a natural overhang.
If access to Anchumbil is unavailable, at Banda Florida, we will encounter the petroglyphs: etched into large, smooth stones, these illustrations depict humans, animals, and suns. Despite being exposed to the elements and geological shifts, these carvings remain steadfast. These figures are linked to the Aguada and Ciénaga cultures, predating the Diaguita.
Upon concluding the trek, we will return to the hotel around midday.
