At 9 AM, we will set off from our chosen hotels in Villa Unión to embark on an exploration of the stunning Quebrada de La Troya region.
Our first stop takes us to Villa Castelli, nestled at the base of the General Belgrano hill. From there, we will proceed to Vinchina, where the iconic Cerro San Javier can be found, crossing the Bermejo River along the way.
We'll pause to admire the Diaguitas Stars, an ancient Aboriginal oratory crafted from colorful stones. The largest of these stars spans 12 meters in diameter and features 12 points. Although their exact purpose remains a mystery, it is believed they may have held ritualistic and magical significance.
Our journey continues as we enter the Quebrada de La Troya, traversing a winding ledge road that leads us to the river's edge. The landscape captivates as we find ourselves surrounded by fractured and tilted geological formations. Noteworthy natural landmarks include the "Horseshoe Bend" and "The Pyramid."
Following our visit to the Quebrada de La Troya, we will return to our selected hotels in Villa Unión.
