Descripción del Tour:
From the hotel, we will set off eastward by bus, traversing the glacial valleys that weave through lush forests and follow National Route No. 3.
At approximately 10:15 am, we will reach the Lasifashaj River, where a technical safety briefing will be conducted. We will be equipped with rubber boots, cover pants, life jackets, paddles, and a highly stable and secure canoe. Our journey will commence with a 1.5-hour paddle through the Guaraní Passage of the Beagle Channel. As we navigate, we will take in views of the Isla Grande of Tierra del Fuego, offering unique panoramic vistas, the soothing sounds of wildlife, and a diverse array of birds, and possibly even encounter some curious sea lions.
By 12:00 pm, we will land on the coast to board a motorboat for a 30-minute sail around Martillo Island, where we will have the opportunity to observe Magellanic and Gentoo penguins up close.
At 12:30, we will arrive at Gable Island. Our guide will share insights into why the island plays a significant role in the early history of Tierra del Fuego before the establishment of Ushuaia. In one of the island's early colonial structures, we will savor a freshly prepared lunch, complemented by fine Patagonian red wine and a stunning, tranquil view. Following dessert and coffee, around 1:45 pm, we will embark on an interpretive walk across the island, exploring the forests of lengas, coihues, ñires, and canelos amidst beaver dams and remnants from the Yámana and Anglican missionaries. At 3:00 pm, we will reach the southern coast of Gable Island, where we will be treated to an extraordinary panoramic view of the Beagle Channel from the elevated viewpoint of the "gables," a glacial formation.
At around 4:15 pm, we will embark on a 45-minute sail toward the Harberton ranch. Our bus will be waiting to transport us back to Ushuaia. En route, we will pause briefly at the flag tree to take photographs, arriving in Ushuaia by 6:00 pm.
For those preferring not to participate in the canoe trip, an extended and detailed tour of the main house area of the Harberton ranch is available. Afterward, we can sail to Gable and Martillo Islands to observe the Magellanic and Gentoo penguins.
