Descripción del Tour:

At 8:30 a.m., a specially equipped shuttle leaves Ushuaia, picking up passengers directly from their hotels. As you travel to Tierra Mayor Valley, a guide accompanies the group, offering valuable insights about the anticipated experiences, the significance of the location, and essential safety guidelines. The 30-minute journey unfolds through a picturesque landscape of snowy forests and Andean mountains.

Upon arrival at the park, the group is warmly welcomed by local staff at a base of operations adorned with a polar theme. A brief introductory talk about the day's itinerary is provided, followed by the distribution of necessary gear such as thermal suits, gloves, and boots if needed. Visitors then head to the exhibition area.
A guided tour of the “Antarctic Explorers” exhibition unfolds within an interactive dome. Through panels, historical artifacts, and immersive projections, the stories of iconic figures like Ernest Shackleton, Roald Amundsen, and other South Pole pioneers come to life. Emphasis is placed on the physical and mental challenges they endured and how their expeditions enriched our understanding of the White Continent.
Following the tour, participants receive technical instructions on operating the snowmobiles. Each person has the option to drive their own snowmobile or share one.
The group embarks on a 6-kilometer adventure across the valley's frozen expanse, navigating snowy forests, icy rivers, and landscapes reminiscent of Antarctic plains. Brief stops are made to appreciate the scenery, capture photos, and learn about the ecosystem.
After the snowmobile excursion, visitors board an authentic tracked vehicle, similar to those utilized in Antarctic research bases. This enables exploration of more secluded park areas. During the 4-kilometer journey, the guide simulates a scientific exploration, detailing how equipment and supplies are transported under extreme conditions. Challenging terrains are navigated, mimicking glacier crossings and uneven surfaces.
The tracked vehicle arrives at the ANTARCTIC MINIBASE, a replica of a scientific station. Here, visitors explore living quarters, research labs, and storage areas, all expertly themed.
Immersive experiences simulate scientific activities on the continent, such as glacier measurement, sample collection, and meteorological analysis. Current issues, like climate change and its effects on the poles, are also discussed through projections and real scientist testimonies.
At the base, a themed snack is served, featuring hot beverages (chocolate, teas, coffee) and energy foods akin to those used by explorers, including bars, nuts, and hot soups. The cozy setting, adorned with maps, photographs, and stories, provides the perfect backdrop for sharing impressions of the experience.
After enjoying the snack, passengers board the transport back to Ushuaia. The return journey offers a moment to relax, share stories, and savor the snowy landscape one last time.
The tour wraps up around 1:30 PM, with arrival at the respective hotels.
