Tour Description

This journey through the Quebrada de Humahuaca invites travelers to discover a breathtaking landscape while delving into the rich ancient cultures of the area. This adventure emphasizes social interaction and provides a unique glimpse into the ancestral heritage.
The tour kicks off at approximately 9am with the arrival at the enchanting village of Purmamarca, where visitors can admire the renowned Cerro de los Siete Colores. The excursion then proceeds to Posta de Hornillos and moves onward to the picturesque town of Tilcara.
Following Tilcara, the journey continues towards Huacalera, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn, offering a chance to marvel at the hill known as the Pollera de la Coya. A key highlight of this itinerary is a visit to the Church of Uquía, renowned for its collection of Arquebusier Angels paintings, a significant example of the Cuzco school.
The next stop is Humahuaca, a town notable for its impressive Cathedral and the Independence Monument (El Indio), a sculpture crafted by the artist Soto Avendaño. Following a lunch break (expenses borne by each passenger), the tour resumes along the 42 kilometers leading to the viewpoint.
From Humahuaca, we head east on provincial route 73, entering the cultivation valleys of Coctaca.
