Tour Description
Our journey begins at the meeting point at 8:00 am. We will leave Las Grutas behind and embark on National Route 3, a legendary highway that links Buenos Aires, the bustling capital of Argentina, with Ushuaia, the southernmost city on the continent.
As we cover the 230 km stretch from Las Grutas to Puerto Pirámides, we will visit a variety of interesting sites. We will pass through Sierra Grande, which hosts Argentina's largest iron mine, and make an engaging stop at the Istmo Ameghino Interpretation Center. Here, a guided tour will provide us with insights into the diverse fauna and flora of the Patagonian steppe and the peninsula's coast. We will get to see the best-preserved skeleton of the Southern Right Whale and enjoy a superb panoramic view of the Nuevo and San José Gulfs from the center's viewpoint.
Before reaching Puerto Pirámides, we'll stop at the Mirador la Lobería to observe sea lions and cormorants. This site is a permanent rookery for One-Hair Sea Lions, and during the breeding season from October to April, you can witness colonies with over 1,000 specimens in the area.
Once we arrive in Puerto Pirámides, you'll have free time, allowing you to choose between a nautical tour, relaxing on the beach, exploring the town, or enjoying a delicious seaside lunch.
After the break, we will head to Puerto Madryn, where a car tour will introduce us to this picturesque city, recognized as the National Diving Capital. We will explore the main shopping areas, with time allocated for souvenir shopping. Puerto Madryn is known for its vibrant tourism, supporting fishing and a variety of water sports such as kayaking, boating, windsurfing, kitesurfing, and surfing. We will conclude the day by enjoying the sunset along the port's shore.
